Neil Gaiman in Manila

He's here! He's here!!!!

Political turmoils and calls for resignation can take the back seat Neil is here! Took some photos of Neil but my camera went on to full memory mode and I had a moment of panic because I couldn't figure out how to delete notGood photos in favor of Neil photo

Rockwell tent was packed and word was that people started showing up since five am! A novelty since we Pinoys don't do the whole overly fannish thing star wars fans are known for. So I was there, inside the tent, sweating (since it was a really hot day) and listening to this really cool rock band, which I think is called Little Isabel, when they announced that Neil has arrived.

There was whooping... which turned out to be premature because Neil was delayed because of his traitrous (sp?) printer and computer. A very funny host comedian kept us entertained, until he arrived with apologies.

And when he did arrive, boy, Neil looked overwhelmed with our very loud whooping, cheering and screaming and even commented that we were 'louder than the brazilians', and when he was asked, later, if he were to write one thing about us Filipinos he answered that he would write about our mad, fun, ecstatic fanaticism. Heh.

And that now that he was here, he certainly would want to write about the Philippines! Yay!

So after we all calmed down Neil did a reading on his upcoming novel, Anansi's boys. I am so buying the book. I loved, loved his reading, I swear, tomorrow I will be bringing a recorder just so I can replay his reading again and again!

I wasn't able to get my book signed because a lot of people had signed up as early as five am! So tomorrow! Coraline, Harlequin and hopefully if I can find it Neverwhere.

Neil is here!!!!
