Pride and Prejudice

I love this novel! I didn't appreciate it when I was younger, mostly because I didn't understand Elizabeth's barbs but as I finish rereading it I have affirmed my undying love for Pride and Prejudice.

I just love how witty and snarky Elizabeth is and her father, even though he does come out weak in the end really has some funny lines!

C'mon how can you not like the Mr. Bennet's snarky letter to his tiresome nephew, Mr. Collins:

DEAR SIR,

I must trouble you once more for congratulations. Elizabeth
will soon be the wife of Mr. Darcy. Console Lady Catherine as
well as you can. But, if I were you, I would stand by the
nephew. He has more to give.

Your's sincerely, &c.

Jane Austen, I've discovered is regarded as one of the first feminists and that makes her cooler in my book, although I'm having a hard time reading Persuasion. Next book in the reading list is Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, one of the first strong females.

So, yes, I am having a reread of the classics.
